AXA Helps Prevent Children's Accidents
Medical insurance company AXA PPP Healthcare has partnered with the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) in order to help reduce the number accidents affecting children.
CAPT are a charity who work to reduce the number of children and young people killed, disabled or seriously injured in accidents. They provide useful information on ways to help prevent accidents and they have factsheets available on a whole range of topics.
AXA healthcare marketing manager, Paul O'Grady, explained that AXA is 'helping the trust to continue its work in providing parents and carers with expert, practical information to prevent accidents to children.'
'We are promoting the trust's work to our customers through our membership communications.'
On the CAPT website the first 1,000 people can sign up for a years free Children's Accident Starter Plan which includes a £25 cash benefit for every night a child stays in a UK hospital following an accident.
AXA PPP Healthcare also has a private medical insurance policy designed just for children; First Healthcare. They now donate £20 to the Child Prevention Trust with every child that is signed up to the policy. The policy costs £9.99 for the first child and the rates go down with subsequent children. The policy does not cover psychiatric treatment but does cover the cost of a nurse to give intravenous antibiotics or chemotherapy at home.
AXA PPP healthcare is also donating £20 to the Child Accident Prevention Trust for every child signed up to its First Healthcare policy.
Geoff Salter, head of product management, said: "First Healthcare is for people who may not be able to afford private healthcare cover for their whole family but who want to make sure their children are covered. It will give parents peace of mind knowing that their children can be seen promptly as a private patient."
