Health Insurance Awards

As from today the voting is open for the Health Insurance and Protection magazine's yearly Health Insurance Awards. The event is being held on Thursday, October 22nd and all intermediaries who are involved in the medical insurance and protection industry can vote for the providers that they consider notable.

Voters are asked to consider:

'product range, service, marketing and promotional activities to intermediaries. Please also consider how companies have supported the independent intermediary sector. This could be in terms of training, technology or intermediary support services.'

Last year the former chief executive of Bupa, Val Gooding, won the Health Insurance Personality of the Year for her outstanding contribution to the UK's independent healthcare sector at home and abroad.

PruHealth won the Best Individual Private Medical Insurance Provider category, this was the third year in a row that it received the award despite the fact that it is only four years old. Norwich Union Healthcare won in the Best Group Private Medical Insurance Provider category.

Intermediaries are also recognised during the evening. They are voted on by a panel of industry experts. Last year Michael Payne from the Advo Group won best Individual Private Medical Insurance Intermediary.
