Health Insurance for Children

Childsure is a children's health insurance company that is offering cover that is specifically tailored to children's needs. They are currently donating £20 to the SOS Children's Haiti Earthquake Appeal for every child insured with them.

Their pricing structure is simple

1 child £13.50
2 children £12.50
3 - 5 children £6.50 each

The hospitals that Childsure choose have specialist paediatricians who are obviously trained to care specifically for children. They do mention however that some of their hospitals do not cater for children under three. With the Childsure policy there are no limits to the number of times you can claim.

Additional Benefits

• Complimentary treatments - up to 10 sessions in total with a physiotherapist, a chiropractor, an osteopath or an acupuncturist
• Accomodation for accompanying parent for child up to the age of 15
• Home nursing
• Private ambulance
• Hospice donation of £70 per day, up to ten days if the child is staying in a hospice with a previously covered condition

Why take out a child-only policy?

• There are benefits that may not be available in standard private medical insurance policies, for example speech therapy
• You will pay lower premiums if you are only covering your children
