Health Insurance for your Child
Health insurance companies are trying out new ways to engage the public with private medical insurance. Developing very specific products is one way in which they are doing it. Policies that are only for children are increasing in popularity as parents who may not want to spend out on a whole family policy are prepared to pay for their children's health cover. Grass Roots has launched the new Child Health Cover an insurance policy backed by Sure Insurance Services and Aviva.
The policy has been designed to cover infants from birth to 18 years and has the following features:
• Prompt access and treatment
• Dental cover, speech therapy & GP referred treatments
• First child covered for only £13.50 a month, further discount for additional children
• 24hr GP and stress counselling helplines
• Newborns added for FREE to existing policies (until policy renewal date)
• Access to specialist paediatric hospitals
• Free online child health information
Rebecca Freebody, Head of Propositions Management & Market Development at Aviva’s health division added:
'We’re delighted that Grass Roots is working with Sure Insurance Services to take our Child Health Cover product to market. Unlike many of the other child healthcare products, Child Health Cover includes benefits tailored specifically for children.
'We are committed to offering products which work in conjunction with existing NHS provision and whilst the NHS is particularly good at providing paediatric care, particularly for the very young, we recognise that there are certain specialties – such as speech therapy, physiotherapy and dental care, which can be complemented by the private sector. We’ve developed Child Health Solutions with this in mind.'
